Victorian architecture is highly elaborate and ornate in design and is not confined to any one style. In fact Victorian architecture is so different and varied that it is difficult to sometimes identify it. The Industrial revolution of the 1700-1800s brought with it improved technology and machinery which helped to increase mass production together with the progress made in transportation greatly helped in the innovation and modernization of the architecture of that time. Some of the significant styles of Victorian architecture remained the Second Empire style, the Queen Anne Style, the Stick-Eastlake style and the Italianate style. Today the grandeur of these aristocratic buildings has transformed to more commercial use and today stands as museums and hotels.
